Naniwa Class (浪速型) Cruiser

The Naniwa class are the oldest cruisers still in active service with the Japanese Navy. Their high number and flexibility leads them as to be the workhorse of the Japanese Navy and are typically the ships used to show the flag in minor colonial settlements and patrol trade waters.

Having been 16 years since the first were built, there has been some talk in the Imperial Court about replacing these ships. In the meantime, the ships are still capable, and sail the great seas.

#1
Takasogo Class (高砂型) Cruiser

Originally known under the codename KJ3000, the Takasogo (高砂) class was a effort to replace the aging Naniwa (浪速) class with a modern design. To this effect many of the superfluous tertiary guns have been removed and the total displacement lowered. As the Court was carrying out a intensive program of economic investment and development, funding for the ships has been scarce.
