OOC topic for Hague Convention

I'm posting this for any OOC questions, comments, concerns etc about the conference.  I've never run one before.  Never even participated in one.  Basically our respective nations diplomatic corps will now attempt to negotiate a treaty or agreement.  My intention was for this to basically be practice and get us warmed up for roleplay later in the game.

So you're planning for an opening speech while we are still working with the startup or are you planning to wait until everything is finalized?

I've been busy the last few days, I'm trying to write something but it will definitely not be a "speech", more of a statement. As of the half-finished statement I have right now it will basically be just an outlining of what the Dutch position is on the first item on the agenda, and then the British already have a statement prepared as well but the Dutch are the hosts so protocol dictates they at least open the debate with a statement.  (unfortunately I couldn't just use the same statements for both, who'd notice anyways?)

Well, I would think that the speech bit would be a simple thing of welcoming the representatives of the nations and thanking them for coming before serving something to drink and then repeating the points from the note that was sent, give the Dutch Position...
... hmmm... yeah... that is becoming a lot of text I guess...
