I have noted that French ships are undergunned vs all stranger designs.
I have more ships (74) but smaller.

I "ll rework all SS to increase firepower & reduce a little the number of ships.

Centerline bow casemates, unless mounted below deck level (to signify they're in the bows) are going to have issues with the rigging on vessels that have sails.  They'll certainly be able to shoot, just not directly ahead, for fear of hitting the foremast or the bowsprit and taking down the forward rigging.

Ram is perhaps a bit short for actual use, a little more length would be no bad thing.

She's certainly more weatherly than the American Congress-class.  At a guess, I'd expect the gun layout along the sides to be 274 (with cutout to get more forward fire than normal) - 194 - 274 - 194 - 274 (with cutout to get more aft fire than normal).

In that case, you may want to mark the 194s as being in side ends mountings.

On the second-class BB, she has more upper beltarmor than she needs: with her main deck at 4m, 3.6m of upper belt pushes the main belt down so only .4m is above water at normal draft.  Interesting the difference between the first and second-class BBs in their 13mm armament.

Didn't the De Reffye mitrailleuse have 25 barrels per gun, not 5?  Other than that, looks solid.

Exactly, a gun with 25 barrels.

But:
1- This is an infantry machine gun, for the navy, 25 barrels are certainly too much.
2- How SS 25 guns per mount ?

Given the way the mitrailleuse wsa reloaded, you'd probably want more barrels than 5, since after 5 rounds you'd have to stop firing and reload.  I'd recommend going with as many barrels as SS allows, which I think is 10.

On the Canonnière Cuirassée, looks solid enough. The lack of upper belt armor is a design choice that allows heavier main belt armor.  The former gives a target area for shells, but the latter makes it more difficult to punch holes that will actually sink the ship.
