To replace her aging and obsolete "battleships" Chile would like to purchase a coastal defense battleship.  Emphasis on armor and firepower.  Prefer fewer larger guns.  Size range: 5,-8,000 tons.  Chile would like to purchase two or three, depending on cost.

I have two designs. The first is already in IRN service, the second is being considered for IRN service. The 1900 design isn't so much an improvement as a different design philosophy, it trades range for increased armor and armament.

Most of my "Kongo II" designs should be appropriate.

And since you specifically request armor and firepower:

What kind of range do the Chileans need? I'm going to revise my coastal battleship designs as they likely have too much range.

Darman

probably 3 to 4 thousand miles.  Enough to cruise the Chilean coast.  Its an inherently defensive vessel but with sufficient collier support it could possibly strike the Brazilian coast.  Most certainly the Argentinean coast.  Another thing I'd like to know is can those offering designs also build the vessels?  I know that some now have building obligations for other nations, I just want to be sure that if one of these designs is chosen it can be laid down in the beginning of 1901.

Delta Force

Here are my three minimalist designs. The 10 inch guns is actually comparable to the 11 inch gun both in real and as they are being used in game, so the smaller ships are by no means underarmed. I'm working on at least one more design that will combine features of the larger IRN battleships, but these are the more standard coastal battleship submissions.

Another thing I'd like to know is can those offering designs also build the vessels?  I know that some now have building obligations for other nations, I just want to be sure that if one of these designs is chosen it can be laid down in the beginning of 1901.
As long as you don't want a dozed or so it's not a problem. I wouldn't be taking part if I didn't want to get the contract, or I wouldn't call them 'German export'.
