Nobody, is there any way you could replace the 120mm guns on the armored cruiser with the same 150mm guns on the protected cruiser?  If it means the loss of a few 88mm mounts that would be fine.
I'll try later, before some more oddballs.
I was about to ask what they prefer anyway
- few big guns, a "normal" design or just many guns
- many calibers or many of the same
- intermediate calibers or a strong light battery

(Almost) All German designs can carry a radio and torpedos - I'm just a bit too lazy to mention that every time.

I not sure if you can put that many guns on something rather smaller, but I have some more pressing concerns about those (rule wise):
  • superfiring (open) deck mounts in 1901? For a - what could be considered a major caliber gun no less - I think not. The earliest ship I can think of with something remotely similar are late WW1 destroyers.
  • you can't just leave out the upper or end belt in an armored cruiser! That's classic "all or nothing" thinking, not yet invented. I think you would at least need something like 2 inches or 40-50% or your main armor thickness there.
1 - Per the rules for light cruiser architecture:
1900: Ammunition hoists, deck torpedo armament, superfiring mounts.

2 - All or nothing schemes are a 1912 development, agreed, but looking at it looks like historically there were a LOT of ships that had end armor, some ships that upper belt armor, and a fair number that had both.  Belt and end armor but no upper belt armor looks to have been pretty common on armored cruisers (much less so on battleships, which mostly had upper belts), and it wasn't uncommon to have only the bow equipped with end armor.

Darman

Nobody, I do have a question on your 2nd (8k) large armored cruiser.  you put two twin 210mm mounts on it plus 4 single 210 mounts on the broadsides.  I like this idea but is it technically legal according to the rules?  If you changed the 6 210mm casemate mounts to 8 105mm casemate mounts or better yet 6 150/155mm casemate mounts it might be better.  Put extra composite strength into belt armor (main and/or end).

A strong battery of lesser calibers for the PC is nice.  For the AC a nice strong main battery is best.

Kworld, your 3450t PC looks pretty nice.  Any way you could bump the top speed up half a knot by adding tonnage?  How much tonnage would that add?

QuoteKworld, your 3450t PC looks pretty nice.  Any way you could bump the top speed up half a knot by adding tonnage?  How much tonnage would that add?

Here's what a 21.5 knot version of that design looks like:

Nobody, I do have a question on your 2nd (8k) large armored cruiser.  you put two twin 210mm mounts on it plus 4 single 210 mounts on the broadsides.  I like this idea but is it technically legal according to the rules?
If you go by the letter than probably no, but that is exactly the configuration most real world German AC had. So I thought I might get away with it. ^^

As I see it, the style is still only capable of firing six "main" guns on the broadside. So its legal in my book.

If you changed the 6 210mm casemate mounts to 8 105mm casemate mounts or better yet 6 150/155mm casemate mounts it might be better.  Put extra composite strength into belt armor (main and/or end).
Not what you requested but much more fun:

I'm fairly sure there's a severe case of NEDS here...

Here's a tough question now... because I'd prefer to have the country who's design I'm using build the ship... Who is going to have BP for sale and the slips available in HY1-1901?
