The Iberian Armies as of 1906 is half a dozen armed forces trying to be integrated into one organization.  While a number of units have recent combat experience from the 1902-03 Spanish Civil War, the aborted New Swiss Invasion of the Philippines and some Civil Defense units from Brazil it is uneven in nature.

With the crowing of Carlos I as Emperor of Iberia the various armies of Aragon, Brazil, Spain and Portugal are united; in theory.  The new combined military staff has chosen to impose a single standard of drill, equipment and organization in order to in the long-term ease administration and logistics.  To keep some measure of cohesion national units of the old armies have been kept in tact as much as possible.  Special attention was paid to the specialist units such as the Marines and Lt. Jungle Infantry with combat experienced soldiers and officers culled out of other units to give these formations an edge in experience.

Officer Ranks
Capitán general – Field Marshal
General de Ejército – General
Teniente general – Lieutenant General
General de división – Major General
General de brigada – Brigadier General
Coronel  -- Colonel
Teniente coronel – Lieutenant Colonel
Comandante – Major
Capitán – Captain
Teniente – Lieutenant
Alférez – Lieutenant Jr. Grade

The new Imperial Army is organized into a total of 23 Army Corps; 15 Infantry, 3 Cavalry and 5 Specialist.  Each Corps is commanded by a Teniente General and in turn will contain two divisions along with various special support units as engineers, Siege Artillery, logistics, hospital units, etc.
Each Division is commanded by a General de división and in turn will contain two Brigades of Infantry, Cavalry Regiment and Artillery Brigade.
Each Brigade is commanded by General de brigada and in turn will contain two regiments.
Each Regiment is commanded by a Coronel and in turn will contain three battalions.
Each Battalion is commanded by a Comandante and will contain four companies; a battalion will contain approximately a 1,000 rifles.

When several Corps are joined together they form armies and are commanded by a General de Ejército.  The rank of Capitán General in peacetime is reserved for the Emperor and the senior army officer.
