Hmmmm.  That will shake things up a bit, especially depending on what happened (anarchist bomb, accident, communist poisoning, alien invasion, etc....)

I wouldn't expect the news to be kept very long, when should other countries start reacting?  Feb 19?  20?

snip

20th seems reasonable for a story that may be more fiction then fact. Rumors will be flying left, right and sidewise over what really happened. Feel free to make something up, as I doubt there would be an official statement regarding the exact cause just yet. The details that would be verified are that the royal family, minus little Alexandra due to a cold, were on a private yacht when something on board (bomb, boiler, crystal alien skull etc) exploded, effectively destroying the ship. Members may have bee killed by the explosion or drowned.
You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when solider lads march by
Sneak home and pray that you'll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.
-Siegfried Sassoon

Representitives of House Royal de Italia will ofcourse atend the funeral, Although I anticipate very few if any bodies would be recoverd in our period. *wanders off to write his Kings outrage at being disturbed then horor when he is told whats happend*
"He either fears his fate too much,
Or his desserts are small,
Who dares not put it to the touch,
To win or lose it all!"

James Graham, 5th Earl of Montrose
1612 to 1650
Royalist General during the English Civil War
