Hey Guys,

Just wanted to drop by and see how things are going.  So how close are you guys to starting and how are you doing with the rules?

Regards,

As far as I can tell we are starting by next week and the rules have been finalized. On another note, long time no see Miketr.

Darman

It looks to be going great.  Nice to see you too :D

Heya Mike, there are a few nations kickin around if your interested in playing.  but yes Rules are more or less finalised, Econ is more or less finalised.  more or less we are waiting on a few players (not naming any names here) to get their pre startup stuff finished and we can roll this puppy.

Whats in need of a player?

Ottoman Empire and Austro-Hungary.

AH, the Ottomans, and the ABC nations are all semi available (you would need to talk to Darman who is caretaker for AH and the ottomans).

I would prefer to fill the AH or Ottomans before the ABC powers

I would recommend Austria... I havent yet done her start-up budget or fleet.  and she has only limited alliance entanglements.

Whats the short version of the startup background?  IE date, roleplaying info, etc.  There are a lot of posts, to look at.  A link to look at would be helpful.

Don't wait on me, I am just poking around right now and am not making a commitment to do anything.

very little, if anything has been done to the exact back story. I suspect we will work on it as needed. Its going to parallel OTL as close as possible, but we do have some events to explain (ie how the UK has only the canal zone in Africa) IC that were done for clear OOC reasons.

For the most part, the changes are to who has what colonies: France has a lot of colonies in Africa that the UK had historically, while the Dutch retained Cape Colony.  The Phillipines and Guam are still Iberian (Spain and Portugal are merged).  The US is historical except for Pacific gains from the Spanish-American War.

Austria has probably gained the most: apparently the Austro-Hungarian empire conquered the area of the northern Balkan areas that historically became independent from the Ottoman Empire in the Balkan Wars of the 1870s-1900.

I take it 1900 is the start date then?

Strange time period to have AH blitz the Balkans, in any event.  Sounds Like AH is the need, I will look around for info on your startup rules.

Please correct me if I am wrong here on the following.

1) You are using a great deal of the N3 rules set Pop, IC, BP, Cash.

2) AH is to have $128 income and 18 BP.  Looks like a five or ten year spending for startup?  I am trying to read quickly but there is a lot to cover.

Quick questions

3) Any limitations on spending?  IE can I buy more IC and BP for example?

Thats it for the moment.
