Subject: Eyewitness report of Eastern Kingdom aerial attack on Montego bay

November 2nd, 0900 hrs, Arrived at Merida (Mesoamerica), the sight of the big zeppelins never ceases to amaze me, that something so big can fly!

1500 hrs, Preparations continue for the EK raid on the IC. The 5 airships have been fueled and are know receiveing their bombloads. Ours is carrying 2 of those newfangled aerial torpedoes, 6 8" winged shells*, and about 1,500lbs of smaller bombs. We are carrying about 6,000lbs of ordinance.

1800 hrs, Dusk is falling rapidly, the skipper wants to take off while there is still light. One of the airships left about 15 minutes ago, the others will follow soon. Dropping ballast. We are flying! Course SE-E, speed 30kts, altitude 3000ft, Target is 6 hrs away.

2200 hrs, The lights of the IC can be seen in the distance. We have passed a couple of fishing boats. Engines have been working perfectly. ETA 2 hrs.

2350 hrs, Montego Bay right ahead. Explosions! The first ship must have dropped its load. Flares lighting up, by God! the "Foxes"(SAF) made it! Ship at battle stations. Skipper is setting up for the attack, dropping to 1000ft.

November 3rd, 0110 hrs, Torpedoes away! No ground fire yet, preparing to release shells, big Armored Cruiser dead ahead, beautifully silhouetted by the flares.

0115 hrs, Bombs away! Hit! Hit! Hit! We hit the Cruiser! There's a merchant on fire to our left. Over Montego now, releasing smaller bombs. String of explosions following us, some ground fire, the skipper is taking us higher up.

0130 hrs, Over water now, heading home. More explosions at Montego, must be the last ship.

0700 hrs, Arrived at Merida, have found some holes in the envelope. No sign yet of the last ship.

0900 hrs, Still no sign of her, we fear the worst.

2000 hrs, Word from the last one, she was hit by ground fire and forced to land in Cuba. All's well that end's well. An eventful night to say the least, I'm heading back home.

*These are modified HE dynamite gun shells used as bombs.

OOC the Attack on Montego bay as seen from a Swiss observer's POV. Ships actually sunk by the attack, are a 1 AC, Warrior, and a GTB, an Auxilary is burnt out, and an AC, and 2 DDs moderately damaged. Of 10 torpedoes dropped all exploded hitting the water or bottom.

From the Journal of Lance Corporal Helmut Lang

October 30th

We are to be inserted today. The rest of the battalion is already underway, they are going in using rented ACM TBs (remarkably similar to the once Agrival uses). However our platoon is going farther inland, we are going in by air.

October 31st

We where inserted during the night, no fire from the ground. The ride in the airship was spectacular. We are dug in on a hill overlooking Montego Bay, we have not been discovered.

November 1st

Another Armored Cruiser arrived today. The Commonwealth is really concentrating their fleet. I count at least 6 Armored Cruisers and 15 Torpedo Boats. Rumor has it that the EK is going to blast their sorry rears.

November 2nd

Sitting and watching. No orders yet.

November 3rd

Oh my God! The EK struck the IC fleet! We could see the explosions all through the night. At least one ship blew up! Theres a thick pall of smoke over Montego. The IC fleet must have been hit badly.

Afternoon

An Armored Cruiser tried to escape this afternoon, apperantly the EK laid mines because as it was leaving a column of water erupted and she capsized a few minutes later.

November 4th

Thick overcast today. Invasion must be soon...
