Italian Naming process

Didnt think it realy fit anywhere else so I figured here was good enough. 

My plan is to follow US naming policy with Battleships named for Regions (states?), Cruisers named for Cities and atleast initialy TBs to get little more than a number based on class year and production order (example TB-9001 would be the first ship of the 1890 TB class).  Anyone see a problem with this?

Of course, at this time, the US doesn't have that naming policy (naming monitors after states??), but never mind.....

Oh, yes, USS Oregon is still around.  Actually, I'm planning 4 Indianas, rather than the historical 3, so she has an additional sister ship she didn't have in OTL.
