oh, and is anyone interested in designing an early Austro-Hungarian or Ottoman dreadnaught or late AH/OE pre-dreadnaught?  I'm not looking for designs now just people who might be interested.

Historically, the Ottomans didn't build any of their own, they bought their ships from elsewhere, so you could always hold a competition or three once the game gets going.  The Austrians built their own ships, of course, but had pretty tight limits on the sizes.

Thanks, I knew that about the Austrians, I wasn't certain if the Ottomans built their own or not.

Any Austrian ship designs between 1895 and 1899 would be great.

Preference is for 10" guns for the first class and 11" or 12" for the second class.  The Austrian Navy is primarily concerned with coastal defense, so heavy armor is preferable and speed is not as important.  Defense against torpedo boats is essential.  Large magazines, especially for medium-caliber weapons, are required because of the secondary role of shore bombardment.

I actualy have a few AH ships I played around with in the past kicking arounnd somewhere... I know I have their dreads to (I played around with building them in N3 for Italia)

Or his desserts are small,
Who dares not put it to the touch,
To win or lose it all!"

This one is a hypothetical big brother to Budapest: the 24cm guns get replaced by Krupp 28cm/40s, the 6 15cm guns get another deck of 8 guns, armor and range both rise, speed stays the same.  Torpedo boat defence is provided by the Hotchkiss 9 pounder.

The problem with this Tegethoff is that the main battery had 2 turrets superfiring, this one has none.

OOPS, proly explains the 900+ tons extra weight it has (I converted it from SS2-SS3 so im not surprised I missed somthing) Ill fix it later and post it up corected (in the same spot)

*edit*
Already posted it up compleat with updated SS3 file.

I added 230mm/9" guns rather than 9.5" guns.  That and lowering the range to 2,000nm gave me something extra to play with, I added slightly heavier armor.

Minor problem....

>    Main belt does not fully cover magazines and engineering spaces

The other question would be, where do you get 9" guns from?  Krupp built 9.4" guns, Armstrong and Elswick could build 9.2" guns, but 9"?

Tanthalas

and for AH they realy should be Krupp guns.
