Heh, granted.  But the US is conditioned by victory of the Union in the US Civil War, which was characterized less by glorious victories (though there were some) than by dogged grinding on and the use of a superior industrial base.  So if the USN has to build bigger ships to get the job done, it's OK with that.

I prefer smaller ACs -12 000t - 13 000t but in greater quantity & an homogeneous speed squadron.

USN prefer "all eggs in the same basket"

The USN ends up with bigger ships because of it's decision in the 1900 design year to go with AXY designs, and  it's better armor (especially end and upper).    The stacked turrets are heavy, too, which inflates things even more.  This one isn't as big, being based on the 1900 USS Salt Lake City design instead of the USS Pittsburgh design.

Which I knew *starts lobying campain for a USS Cheyene* on a slightly diferent note, and I thought I was getting out there with 13.5K light ACs... Also you might want to consider somthing diferent for the layout, I went ABY because I was convinced (ok ok so snip yelled at me enough that I reluctantly agreed) that AQY proly wouldnt fit with the necessary Huge as Engines.
