So, I'm trying to figure out who's playing.  I'd like to.  I realize I've been very quiet, I normally check this every day so I've been around and somewhat keeping track.  However, I've not had much time to play with SS3 and get used to it.

I've seen ya creepin' around, man. ;)

So far the list of players is [edit]being posted by Snip as we speak.[/edit]
You're welcome to join us, of course!
So 'ere's to you, Fuzzy-Wuzzy, at your 'ome in old Baghdad;

Who cheer when solider lads march by
Sneak home and pray that you'll never know

I am definitely interested in playing.

Saddle up then.
You're not the only one new to SS3; any questions you need answered, just post in the ship forum and we'll help you figure them out. We're able to do so much more with SS3 than with SS2, and Mr. Ian Ross-Gowan is working on the program again, albeit slowly. The engine slider is to be enabled next, and then some other changes regarding hull dynamics are in the works.

Rules forum has the basic rules so far and the rules for setting up your nation.
Snip and I hope to have the final revision of them posted by the end of next week.

I know I've got early generation search and rescue craft in mind.  And a battleship idea that I think will fail but I want to see if it works as an experiment.

Carthaginian

All concepts are welcome.
SAR might be rather important in this world... Man isn't quite the 'Apex Predator' here. ;)
The battleship... as long as it's within the scope of the rules, then it's welcome!

All of my original warships are going to be outgrowths of SAR craft (local) and merchant ship "escort cruisers" for those parts of the ocean where large sea/air predators are prevalent.  The battleship should be kosher... its a broadside battery ship...

Jefgte

Happy to see an other quality player back aboard.

I like the concept of boardside battery & escort cruiser.
A kind of USS Dudenberg

Lol pretty much EXACTLY like the USS Dunderburg.  My idea was simply take the CSS Virginia and put modern armor and modern guns.  I doubt it will work very well against turreted warships but what can I say?  It worked during land-clearing operations so my designers figured why couldnt it work against other warships?

I'm thinking my country is going to be a collection of corporations.  That is where the power will reside, in corporations rather than the government.  I was having fun at work yesterday writing up descriptions of the corporations and some of their assets (in vague terms because I'd forgotten exactly what we start with) and their cash available at the start of the game [by "cash" i mean the imaginary currency my government needs to buy points, all merely for my own internal purposes, everything will be done by the normal system but you might get some odd things out of my reports, like having surplus points left over yet importing points (if importing/borrowing points is allowed) because one corporation is being a pain in the ass again].
