QuoteCurrently, the X turret (which is supposed to be before the mid-break, rather like an UK R-class BB) is simmed as above-deck and superfiring, which I don't know as right).
To me it looks the right way to do it. I think the alternative way would be to just use two turrets fore and aft and two turrets on the fore deck aft and not use the superfiring option for X. Not sure what the difference between the two would be without having Springsharp around.

Putting 2 turrets fore and aft and then putting 2 more on the fore deck (no raised turrets) results in a savings of 3% composite strength over the previous design.

A possible look forward to 1912, with what could be considered a light battlecruiser (OTL) or a newer, faster armored cruiser (TTL).  It's a bit smaller than SMS Von der Tann, but the layout's more like Kongo or Derfflinger (though the secondary 15cm guns are in main deck casemates vs below-deck casemates and the underwater torpedo tubes have been replaced with deck-mounted tubes because the ship will be going too fast at battle speeds to use the submerged tubes).

A very well balanced ship;
armament = armour = speed.
A better choice than Fisher...

I have similar  concept for the futur.

This version's an alternative: it trades off the torpedo bulkhead (dubious on a cruiser) for 2 more 15cm guns and a half-knot of speed

This version retains the 26.5 knot speed of the original and removes the torpedo bulkhead, using the weight savings to shrink the hull.

This is the design the CRN was looking at laying down in 1910 to start replacing the old 1895 battleships.  Layout is AQXsY, similar to the CRNs standard AQY layout but with one additional 12" twin turret aft superfiring over the Y turret.  Speed has increased greatly from the old BBs, going from 17 knots to 23 knots (the same top speed as the 1900 & 1905 ACs).
