The Landing Ship is a specialized vessel which carries 6 35m cargo lighters on large cranes on either side of the hull.  When cruising, the lighters are stored on the main deck, and they are swung out and lowered into the water as needed.  The large cranes used to raise and lower the lighters are also used to swing loads up from the holds and down into lighters alongside the ship (the 3 cranes  per side weigh 110 tons each).

The Landing Ship is intended to act as a troop and supply carrier for epeditions that are landing on unfriendly shores.  The below-decks miscellaneous weight provides berthing and storage space for up to 2000 soldiers (1 regiment), plus an additional 1000 tons for additional supplies and equipment.

8 steam launches and 20 large life boats are carried to facilitate initial landings before the lighters begin delivering their loads.

A "battlecruiser", or as close to one as we're allowed for now.  Probably known as "Old Shaky" in service because of the vibrations caused by the big piston engines.

This one is NOT in service at game start, this is a possible 1910 BB.  Please take a look at the hull layout, and give me an idea of whether a ship like this (with an aft mid break) would need to mount it's aft superfiring guns above deck or not (this design is a transitional design, AQXsY).

I guess that a superfiring gun would always be above deck...

If I understand the layout correctly, the superfiring X turret is simmed as aft of the midbreak, so it should be above deck and superfiring. If it was simmed as forward of the midbreak, then it should be above deck and non-superfiring.

KWorld

Currently, the X turret (which is supposed to be before the mid-break, rather like an UK R-class BB) is simmed as above-deck and superfiring, which I don't know as right).  I'm not seeing any way to denote superfiring separately from above-deck, though.

You have no forward turret on the foredeck ?
Your fore turret is behind the bridge ?

No.  There's 4 turrets: A (in front of the bridge, not superfiring), Q (behind the bridge, not superfiring), X (aft superfiring, before mid-break), Y (aft, not superfiring, aft of the mid break).  Q turret is the one called out separately as "forward deck aft".
