Delta Force

Why not reduce some of the armor on that design, and possibly reduce the speed as well? The ship has more armor than many real life dreadnoughts had, and this ship is faster than many of our battleship designs by 5 knots. If it is being used as a battlecruiser (or other ship meant for use outside of the line) it has too much armor, and if it is being used as an armored cruiser (or other ship meant for use within the line) it does not really need all that speed. The armament is also rather excessive. If you make a few cuts in armor, speed, and armament across the design you should be able to shave a few thousand tons off the ship and make it more economical to build.

Jefgte

Are you sure that you could built 75% of the 19 000t BB before jan 3910?
If not, the BB 'll be scrapped ...   :'(

you could still complete it as long as it does not violate the treaty, which this design does not.

Jef,

No, it won't be scrapped, you and I corrected Walter on that earlier.  It's following all treaty rules, so no reason to scrap it.

Delta,

I already have slower designs with similar armament and armor.  This is a large armored cruiser, intended to crush normal armored cruisers and it can, in a post-1910 scenario when battleships can have turbines, move to a 23-knot battleline without too much issue (the broadside will likely be lower, granted, than newer vessels, but that's the way of the world).

Perso, In the 2 last years, I built light ships.

1908 -2xCL5 & 12xDD3
1909 - 16xTB4 & 6xCGB4

That's particulary interresting for CL, DD & TB because, engines technos allow higher speed.

That's why my last ACs are 23kts & 25kts.
Faster ACs are not a problem.
Speed increase for all Cruisers. ACs too.
So, a 14000t cruiser is always stronger than a 11000t.

The Auxiliary Lighter Carrier is a specialized vessel which carries 6 35m cargo lighters on large cranes on either side of the hull.  When cruising, the lighters are stored on the main deck, and they are swung out and lowered into the water when needed.  The large cranes used to raise and lower the lighters are also used to swing loads up from the holds and down into lighters alongside the ship (the 3 cranes per side weigh 110 tons each).

The Auxiliary Lighter Carrier, as opposed to its civillian cousin, is intended as a troop and supply carrier for expeditions that are founding colonies.  The below-decks miscellaneous weight provides berthing & equipment space for up to 2000 soldiers (1 regiment), + 1000 tons for additional supplies and pioneering equipment such as steam tractors, steamshovels, etc.

8 steam launches and 20 large lifeboats are carried to facilitate initial landings before the lighters deliver their loads.
