She still has sails and such but I don't know how to model that.  Also, any help with the whole freeboard bit would be greatly appreciated, I still don't quite understand it.

on freeboard: I use 9 foot (or 2.5m if I am going metric) to a deck. I start at the bottom and try to get about 2 decks above water. the draft will influence your freeboard if you do it this way.

On the design: I really don't know what to say...it looks good in comparison to the Alexandra, but I cant say that I am a fan of the concept. this may explane my warshiping (no pun intended, honest ;D) of a "Monitor" style design as the precursor to my battleships

If I made my freeboard 17ft.  I have my lowest deck (underwater) from 26ft below to 19ft below, then my second deck from 19ft below to 10ft below, and my third deck from 10ft below to 1ft below.  Then add another deck to reach 8ft.  and another deck brings it to 17 feet.  Or would that be way too tall?

by the look of the picture on the wiki page, 17ft could be close. plug it in and see what happens

I'm glad you pointed the whole deck thing out.  It sounds familiar, I think I've been told in the past and have a tendency to forget these things.  Anyways it seems to work out okay, definitely improved my seakeeping a lot.  Which I needed cuz this thing is supposed to be an open-ocean sort of ship.
