When I originally took over Maoria, I had no clue what I was doing - and a lot of my designs from that period show it, most notably and most critically my Bardiche class battleships. Ever since I gained a better idea of what I was about, I've been badly dissatisfied with them. Now, one way or the other, the issue is entirely moot now, but since I had to reinstall Springsharp, I thought it might be fun to baptise this copy with a 'never was'.

I recognise the feeling. If nothing else it is fun to see how one self and others has improved as ship designers when one is looking at the first designs players made in the sim.

personally, I am quite glad the first design I made has been lost. So...many...mistakes....

Unfortunately, the Huang Hun and Li Ming are still about. Well one of them anyways. Not exactly a eshining example of SSing a design.

Apparently the ships themselves aren't that interesting? Ah, well.

Aside from the Bardiches, my biggest mistake was in not using all of my allowed 'starting tonnage', by, IIRC, something like fifty thousand tons.

In retrospect, I probably would have gone with three of what ended up being called the 'Asclepius' class and three of the 'Lost Logia' design for my battle-line, plus, oh, eighteen or so of the following...
