   Seaboat quality  (Average = 1.00): 0.68

Hull form characteristics:
   Hull has a flush deck
   Block coefficient: 0.395
   Length to Beam Ratio: 11.00 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 19.73 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 63 %

Hence why I build light cruisers and destroyers of my own.  ;)

A very pushed design with the BC and BxL ratio.

Agreed. This ship would be tender at the ends and probably a tad weak in certain regards. I think you could afford to decrease length and increase BC, and probably increase draft a little. You'll probably lose a little bit of speed in the process, but you might get a little strength you could put into SHP.

Well, the L/B is only 11:1, max is 12:1. As to the BC, it was 0.405 but it dropped as I cut some things. I suppose I could fatten the ship some. I don't know how much room it actually needs for it's kit, but 120m seemed nice an round. Maybe I'll draw it out and see if a shorter ship would work. Too bad I suck at overhead views. If only I knew someone who was good at them*cough* Guinness/Jefgte*cough*

Hood - Lex - Tiger --

Future Kings of the seabed

Built heavy DDs, more Submarines & more Minelayers to sink them !!!

Jef  ;)

Well if I bring my Hoods into waters where mines are likely to be an issue I better be sure to bring mine sweepers,  Subs well aslong as I stay above 12 knots in this time perod donot do prolonged shore bombardments and have DD to drive the Sub down Should take a miracle to get a good shoot at the Ship speeding by more then 4000 Yards/Meters away.

Barring being in the wrong place at the wrong time or in tight confined waters where it can be cornered by roughly half its own Tonnage in DD these ships should be OK.   But no ship exists in a vaccum but a decent TDS should allow these ships to take the Odd Torp or two and Mine and still get back to port for repairs.   The fear is that said Torp or Mine will slow the ship sufficently to allow someones 22Knt to 23 Knt Battle Ship(s) to catch it and force many of the Fisher design to battle with something they could normally avoid.

Take a a battle between a division of 12 1500t destroyers, and a single 14,000-18,000t cruiser, when the destroyers are ordered to attack and sink the cruiser. With around 4kts speed difference, there's not that much room for fancy maneuvering (trying to trap the cruiser between two squadrons). The destroyers would need more than an uncomfortable hour to get into shooting range (~12,000 yards or km, vs. 18,000), and should forget torpedoes until the cruiser is slowed down a bit from some miraculous hit.
