Well part of the reason I want them is because there fist types came out in 1913. Thats about were my aircraft tech is at (researching 1916 historical now) figured it would be nice and more realistic to be able to go from the beginning of a line.

The Winner of the 1919 Caldera cup was Grand Columbia.... so yes you need to get your plane ready for 1921 in South America.....

You dont need the Carrier Tech to build Float Planes or even Flying Boats.... ;)
You need it to build ships to operate such planes off from.....

On the other hand the planes who competed in the 1919 Caldera Cup were the last of the 1913: Historic 1916 Aircraft likely to compete in such a race with a chance of winning.    There were atleast 5 nations present who had possessed the 1913 tech since 1916 and were all simply working on getting ready for production models of their 1917: Historic 1918 Aircraft.

Yes that Tech is all about building Carriers not the planes dont worry I fell for that line myself when I was setting up the Cladera Cup....

You Could just search the page for anything posted by me about the Caldera Cup.  But I think you will find all the stories about it in the 1916/1917 Italia News and the 1919 Italia News....
The First race was only on a 150 Km circuit and without a good timing system it was a draw... between Russia and Italia.  The 2nd race went to a 150 Nautical Mile Circuit so speed didnt go up but the Grand Columbia plane was almost 2 minuets faster then the next competing Italia Design and then 3 thru 6 were all really close behind.

Sorry another Contestant in the Cup races is always fun I would say get a plane or two ready for the 1921 race but I think your pilots will still be Busy.... :o
