We have a few items on the agenda today firstly the war in the Rift, secondly the Chinese war and furthermore some disturbing news from Europe.

Do these wars inflict on anything as far as the Esc is concerned?

Not as such since we don't have any relations with either Chinese states and as for the Rift war the New zionites brought it on themselves.

Doesn't the situation in the Rift area validate an increase in the stance of the Gujarati Corps?

I don't think it will be wise to mobilize the Gujarati Corps as I fear it will only increase tension in the area, since the Navy already has increased its presence in the area considerately.

Then there is the disturbing European news, what is that about?

First there is the new Dutch government.

The Dutch, what are they up to now?

It is becoming more and more clear that they apparently is up to a new colonial "adventure"

Hm didn't they learn anything during the Siamese war?

It seems so, but it apparently has giving them the taste for a new colonial conquest in cooperation with the RRC.

Well if the Dutch is embarking a new colonial conquest they are on their own, at least we are not obliged to in any way to give them support.

I think we should let this situation run its course, and sit back and observe.

What is the other "European" situation?

That is a quite more serious matter.

Can you be more specific?

Ireland!!

Ireland???

Information gathered by Felix show that the Irish wants to lease naval bases to powers across the Atlantic.

WHAT??

Yes it is hard to believe but Felix has assets that more than imply that there are negotiations between the Irish and CSA concerning the lease of bases in Eire to the CSA:

This is utterly unacceptable!!

Agreed, but the question is how to react.
I will urge the foreign ministry to apply maximum diplomatic pressure in Dublin, followed by the withdrawal of all economic aid.

If that, don't get a positive result, what else to do?

Contingency plan Harp; so I want the three of you, to run through Contingency plan Harp and update it
In view of our present capabilities!

And Romania isn't a threat.....veddy veddy interesting....

Just how is the van Rijn government in cahoots with the RRC?

and when was I talking about leaseing bases to the CSA? I dont have many to go around
You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when solider lads march by
Sneak home and pray that you'll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

Huh, the Dutch are cooperating with me? Curious considering I'm just waiting for their declaration of war...

Well I just find it hard to believe you can mistake which said the Dutch are on, considering that the Dutch have been giving massive aid to the other side.... I think.

Or have the esteemed Confederates (ESC) not been keeping up?

ctwaterman

Looks at maps of China which have here be dragons on them....so exactly which side is which again...???????

Honestly I respect Ledeper for comming out and saying this no matter the reason from the ESC perspective its irrelevant which side the Dutch are one the dutch are doing something in Asia which concerns its treaty partners who they are doing it with or two is of less concern.

TOTALLY OUT OF CHARACTER:

The Irish, quite frankly, don't have the infrastructure to support the CSA's fleet.
Even a modest detachment of old semi-dreads would prove to be nothing short of unsupportable.

The I (as a person) have been talking about giving Economic Aid to Snip (as a person), and in helping to build up Ireland's fleet in order to give him something of a more playable nation. I see nothing wrong with that- especially as I am helping what is nominally an ally to the nations in question.

The CSA has always remained opposed to colonial adventures; we acquired Haiti only to keep from being entrapped in the Gulf and we have no desire to build up a colonial empire nor to set up a system of vassals.

I'm just trying to help a new player get a better nation built, like several other people helped me early on.

And several people (Logi, Jefgte, KK, others) helped me at the start. It's something that's a courtasy.
