Driving to work today in Reno, I saw two trailers blown over on the I-395 by high winds, only to learn that the facility I work at is closed due to power outage - later I learned that a blown over power pole burned down two houses the next street. 60mph+ winds with max recorded gust of 106mph in the valley, up to 130mph in the Sierras.

For inland that is very heavy weather.

I hope that kind of weather isn't sustained...

We got snow... in Arizona... in April... just a week ago. And not just some snowflakes, a full inch.

Hurricane force winds in Memphis last week.
Tropical Storm winds and tornadoes in the Twin States in April.

A nice week for weather- our gardens are already looking up.
I'll take this over drought any day of the year.

Beautiful weather here in Texas, 8-12 MPH.

But, we are preparing for the annual summer drought, which lasts anywhere from 30-60 days from June to August.

*groans as he thinks about having to do marching band camp during that weather in full uniform*

For a change, we had snow. On May 10, at the latitude of 39*32'. Granted, 1500m above sea level, but that's still South of Lisbon/Napoli.

Temperatures here are on the low side too.  between 5 and 8°C, when we expect  15 to 20...

Not the best day for a wedding.

Guinness

It's freaking cold here, like we skipped straight to October.

Mario: my pre-wedding advice is this: 16 ozs of water for every 8 ozs of champagne.

Or for the metric people, 500ml of water for every 250ml of champagne. Close enough.

Carthaginian

I say just the opposite.
1000ml of booze for every 500ml of water.
Be sure to drink something to replace electrolytes as well as the water, though, or you'll be in just as bad a shape as if you'd have just stuck to the booze. ;)

I kept the intake normal for my doings.  Wine gives the lust, but takes away the ability, and I didn't want to suffer from that.

Mum in law and my own dad made sure enough alcohol was removed and reworked to something more constructive.

Why would you run away?
