OOC The minefields will be in Zionite/Italian/International waters and definitely north of the DKB. The DKB would of course get maps detailing the location of said minefields.

That said, I do find it ironic coming from the one that mined the Torres Strait...

well..that was like 15-20 defensive mines to stop dutch KTBs from running around off the coast..and we were going to tell you...really we were.

Wireless sent via code from Brandenburg to Dar-es-Salaam. Upon arrival at Dar-es-Salaam no one could decode it, it wasn't standard Heer, Kaiserliche Marine, or Luftstreitkräfte operational code. Someone understood it though.

August 31st, 1919
Meeting Room 157
Imperial Compound
Neu Brandenburg

Present include:
Großesadmiral Friedrich von Ingenohl - Secretary of State of the Imperial Naval Office
Generalfeldmarschall Helmuth Johann Ludwig von Moltke - Chief of the General staff
Generaloberst Walther Nicolai - Director of the Abwehr
Generaloberst Hienrich Karl von Töllburg - Director of the Reichsicherheitsdienst
Erich Hermann von Lindenhoff - Reichskanzler and Minister of Foreign Affairs

Gentleman, how goes the prosecution of the war in Afrika?

Well, reports from General von Falkenhayn indicate that most of the Zionist army is either in disarray, captured, or penned in at Eilat. Allied forces have secured most of the south and western sections of New Zion and are pushing north and east towards the coast. Tel Aviv is under artillery range and New Jerusalem is within reach. The war should be rapped up within weeks. A glorious victory for the Heer. He also reports that the Italian use of armored motor carriages has been rather helpful, despite the land conditions.

Good, good. And at sea Admiral von Ingenohl?

Well, after the stunning events of July 26, things have gone more as expected. With the Swiss and Zionite fleet trapped in Eilat then Tel Aviv after the Heer placed the former under siege, Allied unterseebootes and Italian aeroplanes struck regularly and without mercy. The mine barrage is almost complete and sweeping operations on Zion mine fields are underway. Judging by the success the Italian's have had with their aeroplanes in an offensive role it seems we should perhaps consider and expanded roll for ours, but I leave that to Generalfeldmarschall to pursue as the Luftstreitkräfte is under Heer control. Now there is great concern as to what the Dutch and Ottomans were doing and are still doing. We're still unsure as to which, if either, were in collaboration with the Swiss and what their intents in the Arabian Sea are. The Aden incident just underlines the skill of Fregattenkapitän von Müller and the timely arrival of the French fleet. Less cool heads would have started a war.

Yes, Fregattenkapitän von Müller has proven once again that he is of a superior Prueßen bloodline and is a skilled commander. Perhaps something larger than a klein kreuzer is in store for him, Admiral von Ingenohl?

I'll take it under advisement herr von Lindenhoff.

Now, what is this mess in Dar-es-Salaam? Governor Schnee shot? Zion snipers roaming the countryside? Tell me this is under control.

Ja, ja..under control. We've already killed two of them near the zeppelin hangers that are under construction and no more incidents have occurred since the 26th. Herr Schnee is recovering nicely and is back to work. Quite a lucky fellow, missed his heart and spine by inches. The doctor wanted him on home rest until November, but he is a pig headed man who would not shirk his duties. Near as we can tell the Zionists snuck in on a steamer at some point in July and were laying in wait until it was time to commence their orders. We're rather sure the other team has either gone to ground or snuck back out. We'll continue sweeps just in case. The Gendarmerie units proved quite useful, especially after the local police became distracted with bloodlust after the loss of their two men.

Very good. Please keep me informed so I may advise His Majesty. Now what of that propaganda rag in Friedrichsberg?

That was taken care of immediately. One of our men operating inside the delivery service informed us of the impending front page and we moved as quickly as we could to collect them. Unfortunately some were distributed before we could strike. The owner, editor, and the reporter who wrote the story have all been arrested and are charged with treason, inciting others to violence, public disorder, and issuing inflammatory statements towards the Kaiser. They will be tried fairly and hung just as fairly. I believe that freedom of the press is a privilege not a right, and these fools just demonstrated how that privilege can be taken to far and now they will demonstrate the consequences of going to far.

Yes, all well and good. We can't have people going around screaming "Down with the Kaiser" and proposing we go to war with the Middle Kingdom on behalf of those ridiculous "Republican" Chinese, especially not after the Hankow incident. Walther, any no intelligence to shed some light on the Dutch/Ottoman angle?

The only information we have is what we were passed from Suez on the movements and the intercepted, if you can call them that, wireless signals prior to the actions. We've heard nothing from Agent 838 and fear the Dutch have found him. It seems this new government in Hague is much more secretive than the prior, and inversely much better equipped to seek out our operatives. As the the Turk, our only intel indicates they truly just wanted the Swiss out of the Arabian Sea and invaded Oman to get it. It seems there was some diplomatic traffic between the Sublime Port and Oman prior, but we've been unable to decode it. Perhaps and ultimatum that went unmet?

Yes, that would make sense. So the Dutch have become a hard nut to crack, eh? Hmm..You are working on it though, correct?

Yes. We're in the process of securing some equipment from outside contractors that should allow us to not only decipher other codes better, but encrypt ours much more securely as well.

I trust these 'contractors' will not be able to return to their nation of origin and decipher our new codes.

Oh, no. The system is comparable but not compatible. Ours will be indigenous once complete.

Very well gentleman, I'll pass this on to His Majesty. Seems all has gone rather well. Keep up the good work.

Office of Kaiser Friedrich IV
Neu Brandenburg
December 15th, 1919

Erich Hermann von Lindenhoff - Well, the message is sent Mein Kaiser. Do you think they will understand the underlying meaning?

Kaiser Friedrich IV - I'd hope so, they've not seemed to be of the slow witted variety previously.

EHvL - Yes, but even if they do understand WHY do you think they will change their minds?

KFIV - I sincerely hope so. Our Nations have had a very peaceful and mutually beneficial relationship for almost 20 years, I'd hate to see that thrown away over a bunch of pompous zealots.

EHvL: We shall see.
