A sneak-peak at the Confederacy's next 3rd Class Cruiser (WIP art, sorry guys) the El Paso.
The torpedoes face aft simply because there is just no room for them to pivot in the other direction; IIRC, some OTL ships did the same so I don't feel it's a problem. She completely eschews the ancient 1" machine guns for four of the newer 1.58" AA guns. The old-style tripod masts have also been given up for a more modern setup. The forward stacks are siamesed  together to save deckspace, and all three stacks are raked aft slightly. Also to save deckspace, the four large whaleboats are serviced by only two cranes, so launching all four boats is rather time consuming.

Five of these vessels were laid down in 1st/1919, and are estimated to be entering service in 2nd/1920.
Three more are possibly planned for 2nd/1919, though developments abroad could change this.

Final stats will be posted when the art is finished. ;)

She mounts 5.5" guns, like all 3rd Class Cruisers... but it's up to your 'intelligence agency' to guess how many!

Two new fleet support ships (merchant standard), planned for 1920 when some more build capacity frees up. They are the kind of small, mundane and perfectly forgettable ships that every Navy needs, but few people ever actually see. The CSA will also be taking orders for ships of these classes (we hope to see some takers on the oiler, especially), with the commission being decided upon when the deal is made. For a smaller navy, the tug might be an interesting purchase, as they could also serve as a patrol/ASW escort for convoys in a pinch!

What is the asking price on the tanker? The pro-Monarchy White Crown Line would like to buy a few to refuel its merchants.

So how much is that in game terms? ;D

IC:
The Confederate Embassy in Phoenix regrets to inform the Swiss government that any Swiss business, concern or operation is hereby refused sale of any vessel built in the Confederacy- whether in the past, present or future and whether being sold new or as scrap- due to the Swiss ignoring the Dar-es-Salaam Agreement by shipping weapons to New Zion to intentionally antagonize Italy.

IC The Swiss government has no idea as to why they have received this message, seeing as they have absolutely no interest in buying CSA trash...

Meanwhile, the White Crown Line is very upset that the CSA choose to classify them with that rabble currently in power, as this means that the plans for a counter-coup will have to be placed on hold due to a lack of oil tankers, plus they will not be forced to double the price of Nestle Chocolates sent to the CSA...

OoC:
The CSA does not differentiate between offers made by 'Royalist Forces' and 'Republican Forces' when you are making both, DF. Somehow, I seriously doubt that they would be in 'Royalist' hands for long before the Republicans would be using the tankers against them... or my allies.

Now, should the player hosting the deposed Royal Family contact me on behalf of the Roaylists- well, that might get my intrest... and my support!

As for the IC response- the CSA refuses to deal with any business headquartered in the R.N.S., regardless of it's political leanings, as long as the Swiss are making grief for the Italians in Africa.

The C.S.N., long deficient in submarines after being one of their pioneers, has finally made the leap of technology necessary to create boats of sufficient striking power and range as to constitute a real threat to an enemy. After many tense months of debate at the Admiralty, two basic designs are selected to serve as the basis of the Confederate Navy's submarine arm. The first, the Type D is a small design intended for work primarily in the Gulf. The second, the Type E is a larger ocean-going submarine which is intended for the Atlantic and Pacific fleets.

Hmm... actually Carth, if the CSA could churn out a design of the DD with a shorter range (hopefully for less tonnage or more weaponry) then the RRC would be interested in purchasing a few.

Also maybe the CSA could supply the RRC with some submarines?

Just PM me if you're interested.
