You have no reason for the deck to be 6''. Reduce it to 4.5'' and use the weight saved on the belt and reducing weight.

The deck isn't 6" per se, if he's using his 'normal' deck layout. 2" weatherdeck meeting at top of upper belt, 3" main armored deck meeting at top of main belt, 1" splinter deck at bottom of main belt/over machinery-magazine spaces. I think..or something similar. Basically OTL 'burster' deck armor plan.
