An 'ancient' design that would have been something that the Confederacy would have had in the beginning if I had been around that long. ;D Based vaguely on the historic H.M.S. Defense. Note that the insane 'quintuple' 1/2" mounts are actually 5-barreled Gatling guns.

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
     5,264 lbs / 2,388 Kg = 39.0 x 7.5 " / 191 mm shells or 0.8 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.33
   Metacentric height 3.4 ft / 1.0 m
   Roll period: 12.5 seconds
   Steadiness   - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 70 %
         - Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.30
   Seaboat quality  (Average = 1.00): 2.00

Hull form characteristics:
   Hull has a flush deck
   Block coefficient: 0.592
   Length to Beam Ratio: 5.09 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 16.73 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 44 %
   Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 35
