Well if you thought about CSA ships might want to look at what other nations are building closer to NS.

Cabral Class AC

I agree that  the Cabral and others are far bigger than your design but they are also faster, tougher and stronger armed.  (also Iberia and NS aren't LIKELY to fight and there are only 2 of my AC's) I think that NS might need to think about faster designs.

I note that you've also given her enormous range, which puts her at close to 25% fuel.  Hoo would mutter about the BC being 0.47 as well :)

Eventually... right now we are at the point of diminishing returns. Speed is getting very expensive for very little gain.

Fighting big ACs is a task for battlecruisers, I really don't consider potential oponents over 50% larger than my design, as at that point the enemy is spending more than its worth it to take down my design.

But right now the CSA is below the neutral line, in such honored company as France, China, Maoria, and the Neatherlands...

Need that range to go raiding...

Measurements here aren't what Whitley's Cruisers of World War II has for Furutaka

I agree. I don't have the book, but I have more faith in the correctness of the data here

I am fairly certain if you use those dimensions, it would work out better than if you use the data from Warships 1900-1950.
