In 1916 the Mughals built 4 500t Torpedo Boats for coast defense. I don't think Charles ever did a SS for these, so I whipped this up:

TB-1, Mughal Empire Torpedo Boat laid down 1916 (Engine 1905)

Displacement:
   500 t light; 517 t standard; 579 t normal; 628 t full load

Dimensions: Length overall / water x beam x draught
   257.56 ft / 250.98 ft x 24.93 ft x 8.09 ft (normal load)
   78.50 m / 76.50 m x 7.60 m  x 2.47 m

Armament:
      3 - 2.95" / 75.0 mm guns in single mounts, 12.87lbs / 5.84kg shells, 1916 Model
Quick firing guns in deck mounts
on centreline, evenly spread, 1 raised mount
Aft Main mounts separated by engine room
      2 - 1.85" / 47.0 mm guns in single mounts, 3.17lbs / 1.44kg shells, 1916 Model
Quick firing guns in deck mounts
on side, all amidships, all raised mounts - superfiring
      4 - 0.51" / 13.0 mm guns in single mounts, 0.07lbs / 0.03kg shells, 1916 Model
     Machine guns in deck mounts
on side, evenly spread, all raised mounts
Weight of broadside 45 lbs / 21 kg
Shells per gun, main battery: 200
   4 - 17.7" / 450 mm above water torpedoes

Machinery:
   Coal fired boilers, steam turbines,
   Direct drive, 2 shafts, 10,000 shp / 7,460 Kw = 27.00 kts
   Range 2,100nm at 10.00 kts
Bunker at max displacement = 110 tons (100% coal)
     Caution: Delicate, lightweight machinery

Complement:
   58 - 76

Cost:
   £0.110 million / $0.439 million

Distribution of weights at normal displacement:
   Armament: 6 tons, 1.0 %
   Machinery: 320 tons, 55.3 %
   Hull, fittings & equipment: 170 tons, 29.5 %
   Fuel, ammunition & stores: 78 tons, 13.5 %
   Miscellaneous weights: 4 tons, 0.7 %

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
     177 lbs / 80 Kg = 13.7 x 3.0 " / 75 mm shells or 0.2 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.51
   Metacentric height 1.3 ft / 0.4 m
   Roll period: 9.3 seconds
   Steadiness   - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 71 %
         - Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.10
   Seaboat quality  (Average = 1.00): 1.33

Hull form characteristics:
   Hull has a flush deck
   Block coefficient: 0.400
   Length to Beam Ratio: 10.07 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 15.84 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 64 %
   Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 53
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 16.75 degrees
   Stern overhang: 1.64 ft / 0.50 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
      - Stem:      16.40 ft / 5.00 m
      - Forecastle (20 %):   13.12 ft / 4.00 m
      - Mid (51 %):      9.84 ft / 3.00 m
      - Quarterdeck (10 %):   9.84 ft / 3.00 m
      - Stern:      9.84 ft / 3.00 m
      - Average freeboard:   11.27 ft / 3.44 m
Ship tends to be wet forward

Ship space, strength and comments:
   Space   - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 187.1 %
      - Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 91.8 %
Waterplane Area: 3,852 Square feet or 358 Square metres
   Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 34 %
Structure weight / hull surface area: 22 lbs/sq ft or 107 Kg/sq metre
   Hull strength (Relative):
      - Cross-sectional: 0.50
      - Longitudinal: 2.13
      - Overall: 0.58
Hull space for machinery, storage, compartmentation is cramped
Room for accommodation and workspaces is adequate
Ship has slow, easy roll, a good, steady gun platform
Good seaboat, rides out heavy weather easily

Trial Speed: 29.53 knots
