I currently possess 13 minesweepers. They were all built in 1907-08 and it was decided to provide some newer, longer ranged sweepers to augment this core. (Based on the RL  KM M1916 Minensuchen)

M1918, Brandenburger Minensuchen laid down 1918 (Engine 1916)

Weight of broadside 74 lbs / 33 kg
Shells per gun, main battery: 225

Machinery:
Coal fired boilers, complex reciprocating steam engines,
   Direct drive, 2 shafts, 1,850 ihp / 1,380 Kw = 17.05 kts
   Range 2,000nm at 14.00 kts
Bunker at max displacement = 165 tons (100% coal)

Complement:
   54 - 71

Cost:
   £0.078 million / $0.314 million

Distribution of weights at normal displacement:
   Armament: 9 tons, 1.8 %
   Machinery: 121 tons, 23.0 %
   Hull, fittings & equipment: 230 tons, 43.7 %
   Fuel, ammunition & stores: 112 tons, 21.2 %
   Miscellaneous weights: 55 tons, 10.4 %

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
     913 lbs / 414 Kg = 25.8 x 4.1 " / 105 mm shells or 0.5 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.22
   Metacentric height 0.8 ft / 0.3 m
   Roll period: 11.0 seconds
   Steadiness   - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 50 %
         - Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.21
   Seaboat quality  (Average = 1.00): 2.00

Hull form characteristics:
Hull has rise forward of midbreak
   Block coefficient: 0.577
   Length to Beam Ratio: 7.90 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 13.75 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 56 %
   Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 25
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 12.40 degrees
   Stern overhang: -2.46 ft / -0.75 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
      - Stem:      24.61 ft / 7.50 m
      - Forecastle (20 %):   18.04 ft / 5.50 m
      - Mid (50 %):      16.40 ft / 5.00 m (8.20 ft / 2.50 m aft of break)
      - Quarterdeck (15 %):   8.20 ft / 2.50 m
      - Stern:      8.20 ft / 2.50 m
      - Average freeboard:   13.40 ft / 4.09 m

Ship space, strength and comments:
   Space   - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 100.3 %
      - Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 141.4 %
Waterplane Area: 3,243 Square feet or 301 Square metres
   Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 142 %
