Refitting these ships started in 1912 and rapid advances in technology made it important to change the armament.  The casemated guns are landed, and the weight is used for Fire Control.

Long time removed from the active fleet list.

The 5 ships of this group of French Battleships are simular, but the difference in year layed down, and difference in building practice on the different yards make these ships different in small parts.

The 1912-1915 refurbisments were very needed.

Refurb of the 1895 BB's. Hull scraped and new paint applied , boilers and furnaces cleaned and painted .  Engines overhauled and given a few nicknacks from 1912-centralised lubrification for example.
Coal bunkers modernised. Cruise speed raised from 12kts to 14 kts, range dropped 1200Nm.
Trim changed, rides 10cm deeper in the water, casemated guns removed and the casemates plated over.

New 70mm guns mounted in enclosed deck mounts.

Misc weight distribution
250 tons crew comfort
50 tons new long range marconi instalation
100 tons used for the modernisation on the coal bunkers and reliability of the engines- includes the augers and belts.

Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
     16.576 lbs / 7.519 Kg = 19,1 x 12,0 " / 305 mm shells or 2,3 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1,09
   Metacentric height 4,1 ft / 1,3 m
   Roll period: 16,2 seconds

Ship space, strength and comments:
Space   - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 81,2%
      - Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 96,5%
Waterplane Area: 23.035 Square feet or 2.140 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 102%
Structure weight / hull surface area: 152 lbs/sq ft or 743 Kg/sq metre
   Hull strength (Relative):

Hull space for machinery, storage, compartmentation is excellent
Room for accommodation and workspaces is adequate
Ship has slow, easy roll, a good, steady gun platform
Excellent seaboat, comfortable, can fire her guns in the heaviest weather

The adaption from Ithekro's original for Nverse II.

Main differences are:
Hull length and the more French negative angled bow.
Main belt armor, 1" thinner but longer and higher.
.21kts slower.
70mm guns are QF
100 tons of misc weight.
