7000nm is enough to get to almost anywhere from Orange, including East Coast and Japan. The Pacific itself is out of the Orange Sphere of Interest. The ships are also coal fueled for economy reasons, and I did not see any point of going for insanely high speeds, esp. as it would have required a significant increase in size.
I could have built a single high-speed prestige liner for the same size, and not significantly higher troop passenger-carrying capacity. Also, oil-fueling would also increase the operating cost and profitability of the liners themselves.

I believe they were intended for use on the Kaapstadt to Nacala or Kaapstadt to Blantrye routes each carrying a maximum number of troops....

But then Im not paranoid someone was out to get me... :o
*looks around with squinty eyes*  But which one of you... Hmmmm.... ;D

 >:(

I reject such accusations. As Orange, I had proper amphibious ships built for missions like mentioned above.

Rats! They found out! ;D

*smiles innocently at Logi*

Of Course we found out why do you think I have been so busy building large Naval Gun Batteries at all my Ports in Southern Ost/East Africa...?????

Of course it wasnt the Fleet of the RRC that concerned the Empire.

That's one helluva long march. :o Hope winter doesn't do to much damage, or the Himalaya's while you march over them. ;) Not to mention the 4-6 nations you'd march through..I'm sure they wouldn't mind at all. :P

Like the 1950s-60s joke.

The Polish fisherman catches the Golden Fish. His three wishes are: the Chinese Army should invade Poland. Three times. After all is done, the Golden Fish asks the fisherman why he wanted the Chinese to invade Poland. "simple" answers the fisherman,"each time they attack Poland, they have to cross Russia twice."

*chuckles*....

I Like that P3D I like that poor Russia.

In this case After China is Done Conqueoring its way throught the Mughal Empire and its half million man Army.   And throught Persia and then the Ottoman Empire I can worry about them when the Reach my allies Border at Suez ????

Of Course I might decide a little Amphibious Flanking action might be in order at that point.

Trying to design a light cruiser, not really successful though.
