In light of the improved propulsion technology available to Firanji shipbuilders, it was decided that building a repeat of Thrawn's Hand had would be wasteful. Adoption of turbines allowed the ship to be 2000ton lighter, and still be 2 knots faster, with better range, payload and protection.
