Originaly 13 of this class where built, however they were heavily used during the Asian Wars and 9 failed to return. The remainder, most with battle damage where rebuilt to "Black Cat" status. The rebuilt gave them electric "creeping" motors, experimental wakeless torpedoes, flashless gunpowder, flash suppresors, spark screen, paravanes, cut down hull, special low visibility paint, and other goodies. They form a special squadron tasked with non-existant missions, and are officialy listed as MIA.
