Same problem as France then, nothing between the 105 and the 140mm.
Tee-hee - makes me feel smug over developing 4,5"/50lbs and 5,3"/75 lbs guns :D
However, there is NOTHING wrong with c.4"/35lbs guns on destroyers ...

Four inch was pretty much the historical standard of the time; personally, I'm happy with them as TB/DD main guns for now.

Guinness

105mm guns should still be just fine (IMHO). Something along the lines of 120mm will be worthwhile in the future, so I'd suggest going ahead and developing it or buying it, etc. but for this design, I think the 105's are plenty.

To me, it's always a better choice to mount enough guns, even of lesser caliber, than accepting only say 2 of a larger caliber. I just don't think you'd hit anything with the smaller numbers (never mind rate of fire concerns, etc.)

Valles

When refit time comes (It's actually due 1917), I'm going to be rearming my older destroyers from single 150s to 100 twins.

Might reengine the 1909-drive boats, haven't calculated that yet.

Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
     254 lbs / 115 Kg = 7.2 x 4.1 " / 105 mm shells or 0.2 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.24
   Metacentric height 1.0 ft / 0.3 m
   Roll period: 11.1 seconds
   Steadiness   - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 70 %
         - Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.18
   Seaboat quality  (Average = 1.00): 0.89

Hull form characteristics:
Hull has rise forward of midbreak
   Block coefficient: 0.485
   Length to Beam Ratio: 12.00 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 17.88 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 69 %

Good, you've both mastered SARCASM well.  ;D

Yes, it's only 291nm @ full speed. I had to sacrifice something.
