Some time in H2 of 1916

QuoteThe group had at last gathered for a meeting, because of distances involved the meetings where infrequent.

Blocampo sat at the head of the table sat with his favorite pet a Persian long hair, "Agent Five how did the disposal operation go?"

The Latin individual flipped open his note book and adjusted his glasses, "No problem as expected.  With respect to income we received 3% less than expected for the base metals and the cargo was worthless.  The machinery and other fittings netted the projected values though.  We should look into being more specific in cargo targeting instead of anything that meets our other mission parameters."

The Persian started to purr and Blocampo continued to pet it, "We of course need funds but setting the stage to make more money is critical.  The Bharat French War provided excellent cover for this first operation and that's why we moved it up.  It is the future that we must look."  Blocampo then glanced at another seat.

"My man X reports that an alert was sent through his military command about the Reformist Chinese War."

"The Materials Agent Three, did he acquire the requested materials?"  Blocampo asked.

Three gave a hurt look, "Number One he has access to what we need.  Once Orion is available she can dock and load the naval artillery and munitions; they are antiques mind you but they will do the job."

Blocampo nodded and glanced back at the first person he spoke to, "Agent Five how soon once Orion arrives at the yard can we begin to fit out Atlantis with the weapons?"

Agent Five replied at once, "A few days to no more than two weeks Number One, then we will need some time for the crew to shake down."  Pausing to take off his glasses before he continued, "I would like to renew my earlier protest; doing disposal and setup in the same yard could burn us badly Sir if the location is compromised."

Blocampo shrugged and patted his lap, the Persian, had wondered away and quietly returned.  "I agree with your concerns Agent Five but our resources are limited for the moment.  Still after the operation to arrange a new business to launder the funds is done it will become the next priority.  So figure one or perhaps two more ships to setup depending on how our weapon gathering goes and then the yard can do pure disposal.  Also look into getting more information on this war it could be another opportunity."  Turning to face a different person Blocampo asked, "Agent Seven order Orion to pick up the materials and deliver them, coordinate with Agent Three and Agent Five.  We will meet again before we mount the next campaign."  Blocampo then stood up and the others present did the same, "Gentlemen I give you, 'Revenge on those that brought our homeland low!'"

The others present lifted their glasses of wine, "Revenge!"

QuoteDecember 10th, 1916
Near Goa

Bridge of the NACM raider Orion also known some times as the Hilfskreuzer Barbarossa of the DKB High Seas Fleet.  The raider's captain looked out from a wing of the bridge as Goa falls behind the raider.  "Is our cargo secured?"

"Yes captain the deck guns and munitions have been secured.  Number Three was correct, Hauptmann Rohr had everything ready for us and got it aboard.  The Brandenburgers shouldn't notice we borrowed those 150mm weapons from their long term storage."

The Captain nodded and smiled as he said, "And if they do it's the Hauptmann's head for treason..."

December 28th, 1916
South China Sea

"Captain look out reports the target appears to be a Dutch dispatch ship, about 1,500 tons displacement."

The Captain thought for a minute, "She is going to pass within 10,000 yards of us it looks like?"

The look out confirmed the captains question.

"Very well we continue to fly the French flag and then we run up the kriegsflagge.  We have taken no prize since the Atlantic and that ship would have to be carrying something important to be up this far north."  The captain announced.

Forty minutes later

"We found out why the ship was this far north captain.  They were carrying a special delegate to peace talks in Japan.  It appears that there is some attempt to end the war."  An officer reported to the captain.

The Captain gave a loud sigh, "No gold for a pay off to the Republicans or to pay weapons from some neutral party?  Just a diplomat?"

"That's correct captain and the diplomat was killed when we hit the ship."

The Captain shook his head, "We have wasted enough time.  This ship is too hot to try to dispose of in Hong Kong.  Kill the crew and scuttle the ship."

"Aye, Aye Captain!"

1918 H1

QuoteOnce more Blocampo sat at the head of the table with his favorite pet a Persian long hair, "I understand we will have the second raider in service shortly?"

Number Seven nodded, "Before we talk about Atlantis, we had talked about looking for other ways to launder funds; well I think that I might have found another path."

Blocampo sat up a little taller and raised one of his eye browse, "Really?  By all means fill us in."

Number Seven handed out some pictures and news paper clippings, "Monsieur Timbre a French industrialist and up until recently a widely respected member of society with access to some of the highest levels in the French Government."

Number three from her chair asked, "Sounds great but why would they be open to our offer and what are the details of the 'recently' part?"

Number Seven pointed to one of the clippings, "Spring of 1917 Monsieur Timbre was at military event in Brest when he insulted the woman with him.  One of the French soldiers, a NCO, struck Monsieur Timbre and upbraided him for his behavior.  This occurred in front of a number of important members of the French Military and Government including the Premier.  Since then he has become something of a laughing stock.  Despite his damaged social standing he is still very wealthy, very powerful and now very, very bitter."

Blocampo nodded, "This man has some potential then.  You can move forward then.  Let us return to Atlantis and I believe we have a report on the potential of using Kochi Ship Breakers..."

QuoteJean-François Fillion Governor of French West Africa was having a meeting with number Seven.

"With respect this is not what I agreed to when I joined up with you people."  Fillion said as he drummed his fingers on the polished desk.

Number Seven gave a tight smile, "Monsieur Fillion you agreed to help us in exchange for helping with making sure your shipments got into France without being looked at too closely.  We have helped you and now its time for you to hold up your end is."

"With information not directly meeting with people, I could get exposed."  The Governor continued with.

"Most unlikely, as your own report states Timbre is a virtual pariah in French society.  He is desperate for contact with those in power outside of business contacts and his collection of cronies."  Number Seven answered calmly and then continued.  "Besides if he tries anything we would protect you as we can ill afford to loose such a highly placed ally as yourself.  No we have considered the risk and it is minor."

Clearly unhappy with the situation but at last the Frenchmen nodded in defeat, "Very well it has been some time since I saw Paris."

Several weeks later outside of Paris in the home of Timbre

"So Governor I was most delighted to receive your request for a meeting."  Timbre said from his leather chair.

Fillion and Number Seven sat across from the industrialist sipping cognac.  Fillion glanced slightly at Seven and then said, "This isn't exactly a social call Monsieur Timbre."

Monsieur Timbre nodded he had next to no social calls of late and nearly as few visits from those in the French government.  Fillion was a powerful man even if he was in the French colonial ministry.  At last Monsieur Timbre asked, "So how can I be of assistance?"

Monsieur Timbre was surprised when the Gentlemen introduced as Monsieur Georges Ladoux spoke up, "Actually we were hoping we could be of help to each other Monsieur Timbre."

Timbre's eyes narrowed and as he studied the body language of the two it dawned on him that  'Ladoux' was the senior of the pair before him and Fillion was most uncomfortable despite his statements otherwise. Timbre decided to be direct, "Who are you Monsieur Ladoux?"

Number Seven leaned forward, "All in good time Monsieur Timbre, all in good time.  Let us talk about what the organization can do for you before we start naming names."  Seven then turned to Fillion and said, "You can go now."

The French colonial governor got up and left the room.

Timbre watched Fillion exit the room and turned back to Number Seven, "Perhaps you do have something to offer.  Very well let us talk, what can you do for me and what do you want from me?"
