so what the verdict

The Rock Doctor

Until she has a cruising radius, she doesn't worry me too much.

#2
if you mean the dd it has one 5000 natical miles

if you mean the battlestar dam!  there is always some thing i miss. does it matter? the range is huge and its not like i will be building some thing that hugely huge call it  100000 natical miles

The Rock Doctor

I meant the larger vessel.  The range is apparently 0 nm @ 12 knots.

Logi

um is there something I'm missing? Like an explaination of why the battlestar is 2,533,825k tons? That over 2 billion tons... Not to mention it doesn't pack alot of firepower for such a hopelessly large vessel.

Looking at the over-all hull strength (1.43), you probably made a mistake.

sgdn

the battlestar is some thing i hammered togeter as a bit of fun the serious thing was the dd at the top

and the battlestar is 2,533,825k tons because that is what the new series galactica come out as if you input the best gess nubers for its size the guns are the nearist firanjian exivlents to what galactica has in the series [22 twin 22 inch railgun mounts for the main battery and 144 twin 20mm gattling guns for the point defences]

Miscellaneous weight is for 144 vipers

the rest would be for all the suff i forgot like life suport, fuel, [well reactors] ect

I believe the consensus was to count reloads in the SS2 torpedo count. It doesn't count the weight of any torpedoes, but the number does affect stability calculations (I believe).

Sachmle

Really? I thought the SS2 count was tubes, and we accounted for the torps themselves in Misc weight.

maddox

"You" need to account for every torpedo carried in misc weight.

For example, the French Demarce IV cuisers carry 8 CSA 21 2 ton heavy torpedos in the tubes, and 1 reload for every tube + reloading equipment.  Grand total of that bit of armament , 8 fish in the tubes =16 tons.  + 1 reload per tube =16 tons + because it's French, 3 tons of reloading equipment =35 tons of misc weight.

Not bad, but maximum L:B is 12:1, so you need her a bit wider (or shorter).
Also given the focus on torpedos i would recomend increasing her speed to 33-34 kts, this should be possible by reducing freebord. 1,93 is exessive seakeeping, 1,0 is more then enogh for a DD.

Quotecorrected beam and some other tweaks

Yes but displacement increase from 989t to 1235t...

Decrease the freeboard from mid to stern
