400t for 4 14cm guns, 2000nm range increase, AND 15mm thicker armor? Hmm..... YEAH!!! :D

Which ships the cruiser is supposed to face? The various Swiss 8-9" ones?
The first purpose of a warship is to remain afloat. Anon.

sgdn

hopefully no ones but if it came to a fight any thing that is in range is a good starting point ideally it would square off angst other ships of similar properties

it's a work horse ship so jobs would include leading smaller or lighter forces raiding battleship support ect like most cruisers realy

Other than being kinda heavy the first one is nice. Good firepower, good speed. I'd probably try and lighten it somehow, but other than armor and range what is there to cut? You could get by w/ a 75mm belt and 25mm deck, I suppose and 8000 @ 12kts range, or maybe even less depends on what you want to do w/ it. But all in all, almost 10k isn't a CL, at least not at this time. 10k is CA weight class, in 1916, IMO.

The Rock Doctor

I doubt there is enough deck space for forty-four medium caliber guns, as we've never seen even half that number on a historical cruiser.

While well armored, I suspect three 4,000 cruisers, with 75mm of armor, 28 kts, and 4x2 150mm would be as or more effective in the role...

sgdn

the guns are 4 twin mounts in the normal ab xy arangement and 36 casemate monts on 3 decks 6 guns per deck each side which is the same as the firajian super cruisers carry just 3 decks not one

you are probably right right about 3 normal light cruisers being more use but not as odd and mad especaly if its paired with a pure drednought [ie only big guns] say about 21k tones with 12 330mm guns 21knts 325mm armor

Its got an impressive amount of firepower and I would also give it a bonus for secondary explosion chance.  My old AC's armed with 250mm guns are about the same speed and they could rip this ship apart.  I strongly suggest you go for a design thats half the displacement and at least 28 knots.  Its too slow to chase down CL's and I think you will be shocked by how fast a charging DD can cover the range especially once new longer ranged torpedo's become common.

44x140 on a 12000t hull !

IMO, not well balanced ship.

As an Escort Cruiser to protect Battleline from DDs
2x6000t or 3x4000t with 140mm guns are certainly better

Here is an exemple of EC with all casemate guns.
