Coles/Ericson turrets are like the ones on Monitor, "modern" turrets uses turret+barbarette, were you got a armoured gunhouse rotating atop a armoured cylinder that is fixed.
IN an Ericsson turret the entire structure rotates, and it does not penetrate the deck.

I will update the techlist, Firaji got 1916 engines from 2/1915

I suspect that both of those should be be 14cm & 7,5cm (140mm&75mm), not mm guns.

You need to klick for which type of engine you got in the ship, usally complex reciprocating or turbines (recomended).
If one do not one get zero engine weight:

That ship is almost round, a "normal" L:B for a CB would be between 5-6:1 i would say.

Caution: Hull subject to strain in open-sea
With the exeption of when buildingg destroyers one should always have a overall hull strength of 1,0, less and the ship is too fragile to be built, more is just wastefull as it means you pay for weight you do not use.

Hello,

Or the Firanji could purchase the 4 CBBs that Russia is trying to sell.  ;)

Shameless advertising!   ;D ::)

Still a bit too low, I feel, but both ships are a big improvemtn on the first ones you posted :)

QuoteMachinery:
Coal and oil fired boilers, steam turbines,
  Direct drive, 2 shafts, 6,647 shp / 4,958 Kw = 15.00 kts
  Range 1,500nm at 10.00 kts
Bunker at max displacement = 354 tons (90% coal)
Both the 1500nm and 2500nm is a bit too short range, hardly enogh to allow the ship to go to full speed long enogh to engage.

NO, they are not waste of metal, but there is room for improvemnt.
But Firanji got qute a few old BBs for costal defence and great lake duties, considred something larger?

Well and good. Pratice makes perfect. :)

A bit of advice; it is always easier to give feedback and comments on a ship if one knows how the designer intends to employ it.
Just a line like: "Intended to give artillery support for light torpedo-attack forces in shallow waters" helps allot for anyone providing feedback on a design.
I estimate that designs with such coments get two or three times as many replies as posts consisting only of the springsharp report.

The Rock Doctor

I'd recommend a range of no less than 6,000 nm @ 10 kts for a capital ship.

You would be good with about 100 shells per main gun.  Typical battleship actions won't last long enough to require 200.

The deck armor is very heavy for the time period; if you scale it back to ~75 - 100 mm, you could make your end belts a full 4 metres high and your upper belts 2.44 metres high (for coverage of a complete deck).  You may also want to extend the belt length so that there are no unarmored ends.

The design's pretty capable for her size, so a good starting point for refinement.

The Rock Doctor

The armor scheme is okay - what can you do if you do omit the fifth turret?

I'd recommend a bit of miscellaneous weight set aside for a long-range wireless, so that she can function as a flagship and communicate with headquarters or detached squadrons.

Although I find the freeboard a little low, it's a pretty powerful ship for her displacement.
