Surface action , and the Seas of Venus.

Aircraft are suicide due the railguns used. Only gliders have a chance of survival.
(the same premisse as used in the legacy of the Aldenata universe, the aliens have the next best thing to a perfect AA)

Actualy, for Navalism the perfect enviroment, lots of archipelago's, the big cities are beneath the waves.
No large armies- only very lethal platoon level landwar, and no aircraft.

Valles

I know the books, though actually I was thinking of... http://www.worlddreambank.org/V/VENUS.HTM

Seapole or Jaredia'd be workable, too.

Assuming we got permission to use them at all, which I'd not consider guaranteed by any means.

As IU have said before Many times, Personaly I think we ought to just use the Real world map again.  Maybe a few changes, but honestly other than the speed of combat (and not much can be done about that) im quite satisfied with the Nverse.

And if  we start  it with large parts of the world Uncontrolled we can have lots of fun.  I would be more in favor of the realworld devided up into territories and lets go to it....  Less fantasy not  more....

I don't really care fantasy or not.  Happy to feature the beer-drinking Bavarian Dwarves ... whoops foreshadowing.

The two things that interest me is depth to the history so that some countries "just don't" like each other- which is fairly well done here.

Another is to have primary and secondary resources so you have an idea of which trade routes and alliances might be of import to you.  We have the real world to fall back on here, but on a completely fantasical or substantially altered world that would not be so.
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest
