I redesigned my old frigates to conform the new rules. The old version would be almost as fast as my corvettes, so I simmed it with 1905 engines instead of 1909 ones. Thus I needed another 700t and decreasing the speed from 26 to 24 knots.

Sloop to patrol the extensive and mostly unpopulated African coastline, freeing up navy ships for fleet operations.

Armament is to take on any destroyer or auxiliary cruiser, with two torpedoes that are fitted only wartime. Large misc. weight is for two large motor launch, minelaying/sweeping equipment. Armor is against destroyer weapons.

Mixed (VTE+Turbine) propulsion - the 1000HP VTE is driving the turbine shaft through a simple gear, and a clutch disengages the VTE if the turbine is turned on. It would work due to the relatively low torques involved.

Six ships were built.
