The rift sea still is 250-300 km wide. Not as if somebody would swim across.

Rather something like 50-200km.

I was trying to estimate the distance across the Rift Sea... based on the OTL Length of Madigascar as 1000 Km then the rift sea is varriable probably between 125 and 200 Km buy my SWAG [Scientific Wild Assed Guess].

Lake Victoria is necessary because otherwise Egypt is really a Desert....????

I dont know how wide people want the rift sea to be I know I didnt consider it wide enough originally so I think I had 2 Corp in Italian South Africa formerly called French Mozambique just because I am paranoid and you are all out to get me. ;D

Dont worry you are right, im out to get you its all part of my plan for global conquest... Now where did I hide that nuke.

Lake Victoria is necessary because the sim has always assumed it was there.  Deleting it now would be weird.

The Mods are comfortable with the width of the Rift Sea; it offers an interesting environment for naval warfare.  Madagascar can move around a bit if need be.

Charles:  If Tigavi is fictional, pick a place for it and I'll add it.

Good to know about the Zambia/Zaire border area.  I'm adding borders and cities elsewhere on the continent now and may be able to upload the next version this evening.

The Rock Doctor

Haven't fixed the Zaire/Zambia border, but other stuff is there as I indicated.

Actually, I think most of the Nile's waters come from Abissynia.
Or am I wrong again?

I don't honestly know; I assume the Nile follows its historic path despite whatever hydrological consequences the big rift would cause.

I googled for "nile river basin", which turned up some good stuff, like this:

including this graph, which is the outflow of white vs blue nile:

New Jerusalem would be OTL Addis Ababa, Tel Aviv would be Nazret.

I still don't agree with decreasing the width of the Rift Sea. Any reason for retconing?

I will just change the name of Tigavi on my Port Structure to Kigali like the name of the City your already have on the Map of Africa.  Saves everyone alot of work.

Care to share with the rest of us?  I don't care just wondering myself.

I just noticed a major mistake (on my part), Atlit and Eliat should be switched. Eliat is at the entrance to the Red Sea, Atlit on the southern edge of New Zion. Good thing I caught it now.

With the war going on this map could be very useful:
