Machine Guns

.303 British or 7.62mm x54 M1892 Maxim Machine Gun on Horse Carriage

Very few of these relics are still in use. Mostly in the Opolchenie and Fortress units. Hundreds more were recently acquired by the Levchenko Technical Mission to the UNK, these sit in Tula Arsenals.

7.62mm x54 M1905 Maxim Machine Gun(shown on Bavarian-Style Mount)

At 60lbs the Maxim has never been light. This older model continues to serve with the Opolchenie.

6.5mm x48 or 7.62mm x54 M1917 Maxim Machine Gun on Suvorov M1917 Wheeled Mount

The heavyweight of Machine Guns. At 140lbs. the Maxim with Suvorov mount has only one great quality. Rugged reliability. The wheels help in transportation by the Infantry, but is still considered cumbersome. Production has continued until the Vickers can replace all units in the field, this is expected to take quite some time.

6.5mm x48 or 7.62mm x54 M1917 Vickers Machine Gun on Tripod

The Levchenko Technical Mission to The United Norman Kingdom returned with samples and Licenses for many of the lastest UNK armaments. After thorough testing, the UNKs claims were found to be true. The Vickers Machine Gun is the most modern and capable Maxim substitute in existance. At only 33 lbs. for the gun itself or just over 50lbs for full kit, this gun is much praised already.

This is one of the newest addition to Russias arsenal, and it is expected to take some time to produce these MGs in the numbers needed. Priority has been given to White Guard units and Aircraft.

6.5mm x 48 AF-19 - Avtomat Fedorova 1919 Model

The Fedorov Rifle has shown great promise after much testing. The initial AF-16 Model using standard 7.62mm ammunition failed miserably. The oversized parts still did not hold up to the abuse of full size rifle cartridges. Several test rifles tried out different smaller 6.5mm cartridges. Although performing much better the power was still a bit high for the Swedish and Italian designs. The Japanese 6.5mmx50 did well, but its thin base and short extractor groove caused considerable trouble. Fedorov was convinced he needed a design of his own.

Once the reworked rifle had a more suitable cartridge its performance increased tenfold. At over 11 lbs loaded, it is certainly not light for a Infantry rifle, and it still jams too often. The AF-19 has only been issued on a very limited scale. As noticed when first tested only highly trained and disciplined troops can use the rifle without the high rate of fire causing an immediate ammunition crisis. It has found a home in the hands of White Guard units and a new 'Storm Battalion'.

The AF-19 with a heavier chromed barrel and bipod has shown good potential as a squad level automatic weapon for Regular units armed with the Fedorov-Enfield.

7.62mm x 54 M1891-MosinNagant Bolt Action Rifle

The old workhorse still soldiers on... but its days are numbered.

.303 British Lee-Metford

Almost two hundred thousand of these relics were acquired by the Levchenko Technical Mission, these sit in Tula Arsenals.

6.5mm x 48 M1917 Fedorov-Enfield Bolt Action Rifle

The Levchenko Technical Mission returned with the production rights for the UNK Lee-Enfield SMLE. Fedorov tested the rifle himself and was very pleased. 'The smoothness of the short action bolt is incredible' Fedorov stated ' The high finish and excellent quality outstanding.'

'Of course, the rifle is just too expensive' so began the simplification process. Redesigned for Fedorovs new cartridge, the rifle is still a dream too shoot. But the complex and detailed sights have been replaced with simple Moisin ones. The removeable magazine has become a permanent addition. Other details have changed but the long sword bayonet and lug remains. Priority for the new Tula rifles go to the White Guard then they will filter down.
