Peru 1915-1919 program

As I wrote early, Peruvian Armada had 3 Battle Squadrons, 2 actives & 1 in maintenance

After building a new 1st Battle Squadron from 1911 to 1914, I am going to start the new 2nd Battle Squadron.

- 1 BB - 26000t – 12x340
- 2 ACs – 9000t –
- 8 DDs – 1500t –
- 2 Coastal Subs – 500t

Other work
- 2 DD Raiders 1500t
- Rebuilt 2 Cruisers Raider in Squadron Cruiser
- 2 Fleet Tenders

I think the destroyer is the better bet of the two, but to be honest, I'd use those guns for auxiliaries and shore batteries - both cruisers and destroyers ought to carry heavier guns than 90mm at this point.

Walter

I always thought that the main weapon of the Torpedo Boat is the torpedo, not the guns. This is why my Torpedo Boats under construction have a few 3" guns.

Fair enough - I was looking at the...

It looks alright - but do you need an large, offensive mine-laying capability where you are?

Jefgte

..or is it intox ?

The war is better on adversary water...

The Rock Doctor

True.

On second reading, I'd suggest leaving out the 30mm belt - it won't stop cruiser fire, so use the weight to increase speed and/or mine load.

I increase slightly the speed, now over 30kts & also armament.
now, 4x2 with 2x152mm centerline alternate

Is there room for 8 6" guns all on the centerline in single mounts on 551 feet? I'd have to draw it to see, but I had trouble finding room for 6 5.5" guns on my recent 4000t cruiser.

We need the NEDS expert in here. Paging Borys! Borys to the white courtesy phone please.

The Rock Doctor

I would postulate that Borys would, after careful analysis, agree that this was a case of NEDS.

However, I'm wondering if Jef meant to have those as four twin mounts.
