I took the stats on the RN Lion class BCs and toned it down to fit a type 2 slip and swapped out the 12" for 9.2"s as she's not a BC, but an AC.

Good!
I'd say overarmoured, but small navies have to go for quality.

How thick would you recommend for the armour? 5" belt? Or do you mean the turrets and barbettes?

Yes - I think a 4-5" main belt and 6-7" turret faces should suffice.

And I think two funnels will be enough.

Pretty extensive armor compared to my Furies, although bit thinner. Overall, pretty much comparable - and overarmored if you want her to face only 6" gunned CLs - that's why I have a design on 2-3000t less with reduced armor.

As a note, a Fury would disengage from ships of similar strength on a commerce raiding/protection mission until reinforcements arrive - most of the time.

I like this version better.
Like P3D noted - the job of such ships is to chase down/chase away the 6" armed cruisers.

Now, thinking of it, in N-verse the heavier armed version cost less than 1$ and BP more.
For a small fleet like yours maybe a heavier-armoured ship would be better.

The KK would had tried to build a 10,000 tonner with like armament.

Very good AC with a strong hull.

Just a question:
Do you think that 4" guns are enough to repulse 1916 DDs ?

Maybe, maybe not, but 6s are too heavy to fire fast enough to hit 1916 DDs often enough, and I don't have a 5"/127mm.

Iberia & Peru use 120mm guns.

(I use 120mm for secondary armament on my old EC &  new AC)

A few 4" hit in the machinery spaces would slow down the DD just as fine. The main advantage of larger shells is the longer  range IMO.

With a broadside of 5x4" and 8 9.2" guns capable of taking out a DD from distance I won't be much worried about a 28kts ship vs destroyers.
