why 7 main guns instead of 8? I had to sacrifice something to work in the upper belt, etc.

why 9500t? Combat endurance. Lots of fuel oil, and a fair number of main armament shells.

The truth is, the CSA *probably* would never build this ship, at least not until AON is researched, and the next engine tech, but I was curious to see what sort of AC I could build. I messed around with an even bigger 9.2" armed model last night for a little while too, but before I build that, I think I'd want to develop a newer, longer 9.2" gun.

I've contemplated similar concepts as well; while I can see a use for them, and could theoretically build satisfactory versions now, my priorities are elsewhere.
