The Rock Doctor

Mike, there's a convention that cross-sectional hull strength on torpedo-boats and similar vessels ought to be 0.50 or higher - not just the overall strength.  If it drops below, the hull is considered fragile and greatly at risk of failing.  I've inherited a number of light craft with this issue and can look forward to a few sinkings before I get round to replacing them.  You might want to avoid the issue altogether...

miketr

Thanks for the heads up, a slight pain as the over hull strength is shown on each tab
while the cross sectional hull strength is on just the one tab.

Iberia IIRC does not have the BB Architecture tech for superfiring turrets.

In deck mounts?
i really think you should fix that, or the guns will be almost useless, as deck mounts are not power assisted, so the crew have to manualy carry the 216kg shells and it charge from a deck locker or from the magazine to the gun. the rof will in be far less then 1 round per minute.

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
     14,226 lbs / 6,453 Kg = 29.8 x 9.8 " / 250 mm shells or 1.9 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.06
   Metacentric height 2.7 ft / 0.8 m
   Roll period: 15.7 seconds
   Steadiness   - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 72 %
         - Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.99
   Seaboat quality  (Average = 1.00): 1.43

Hull form characteristics:
   Hull has a flush deck
   Block coefficient: 0.580
   Length to Beam Ratio: 8.36 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 22.58 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 43 %
   Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 50
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 0.00 degrees
   Stern overhang: 0.00 ft / 0.00 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
      - Stem:      24.84 ft / 7.57 m
      - Forecastle (20 %):   15.81 ft / 4.82 m
      - Mid (50 %):      15.81 ft / 4.82 m
      - Quarterdeck (15 %):   15.81 ft / 4.82 m
      - Stern:      15.81 ft / 4.82 m
      - Average freeboard:   16.53 ft / 5.04 m

Ship space, strength and comments:
   Space   - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 83.1 %
      - Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 111.3 %
Waterplane Area: 22,331 Square feet or 2,075 Square metres
   Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 106 %
Structure weight / hull surface area: 124 lbs/sq ft or 603 Kg/sq metre
   Hull strength (Relative):
      - Cross-sectional: 0.96
      - Longitudinal: 1.52
      - Overall: 1.00
Hull space for machinery, storage, compartmentation is excellent
Room for accommodation and workspaces is adequate
Ship has slow, easy roll, a good, steady gun platform
Good seaboat, rides out heavy weather easily

Finished NA
2 BP per year build rate (2 in 1904 & 2 in 1905)
Units in Class:1
Name: NA

Edit:God some times I really hate springsharp and miss spring style.  Fixed the turret problem, thanks for the heads up.  Also fixed the broad side maingun firing problem.  Added some extra armor with freed up stability.
