I just discovered that I cannot build 1000 tonnes destroyers. So I decided to build what I can:

GTB 1912, Habsburg Kaiserreich GTB/Zestroer laid down 1912

I think that 3x3,5 inches is more evolutionary upgunning from the 2x3" of my previous class, than 2x4". And fits the OTL KM GTB1913 which I base my designs on better ...
So, my question to the Powers That Be: would it be possible to replace the above design with this?

Besides the apparent  need to develop a 3.5" gun (which would take two years), the ship design is on the poor side. Undergunned, slow, and short-ranged, especially for oil-firing. The cause is the 12' freeboard -should belong to a cruiser not destroyer.

That 50t spare should go into increasing seakeeping to 1.00 - especially as you now have 2kts more speed, which is not bad. Lengthen hull and slightly increase forecastle - I'd also add a third 4", and some misc. weight.

Err.. What is strange about that?
As springsharp uses normal displacement as baseline, of course standard and light will drop if one increase the proportion of fuel (that do not count towards light) in the normal displacement.

About all the designs: whould it not a be a good idea to raise one gun mount so that the forward gun can fire over the very high forecastle?

In SS I input the same freeboard for 12 and 11 - which gives me a flushdeck description. I believe this to mean a gradual decrease from 11 to 9.
And as the guns are never placed on the Forecastle (you pointed that out to me), I imagine the fore gun to be just aft of the "11" point, and thus capable of firing forwards.

Going by the freeboard numbers the ship is not flush decked, and i have no idea why springsharp says so, might have something to do with the very short forecastle. If one is seeking a gradual lowering flush deck I think the best way to handle that is by simply set the one height for 11&12, a bit lower for 8&9 and lowest for 5&6 (or 2).
Basically go by the numbers and do not give a damm what springsharp say about raised or flushed. ;)
