Rocky drawing give the same boardside with 4x127.

The closest ships here that got similar armament is the Dutch boats with 5x12cm gun. But their layout is quite different (all centerline for one).

But if SS - the core of this game - allows it ...  it is a tough call to ban stuff which SS says works.
Much also depends on the gun in question, there is a significant difference in size between a L35 and a L50 gun (~1-1,5m in length).
The size of the guns in my drawing is about accurate for a 127mm L36 gun (scale is 1 pixel = ~10cm).

I think that on small ships, hte size of the gun itself is the minor problem, the making enogh space around if for efficient operation is a larger problem.

hmmm...
IMHO, Your DD is overloaded in armament for 30kts.
I hope that in heavy sea, that is not the "Tomozuru stability".

Possible, but as the V&W class served sucessfully in two world wars without breaking in half  or turning turtle every now and then, I am not worried about that.

If you sim a destroyer with historical freeboard, you cannot avoid getting this message.
The first purpose of a warship is to remain afloat. Anon.
Below 40 degrees, there is no law. Below 50 degrees, there is no God. sailor's maxim on weather in the Southern seas

I agree but that is not an historical destroyer, That is our SS & we could sim "better".

IMHO, with this message I think that the SS is not good enough, the crew in heavy sea work with lack of  confort & the performances in action decrease.

Better heavy weather performances...Thanks for the crew.
