Having re-read the rules and found the note about fuel weights counting I have finally gotten my first Light Fleet Support ship design sort of working well it floats anyway.

Corsica, Italia Transport laid down 1913 (Engine 1912)

Displacement:
   7,476 t light; 7,680 t standard; 10,086 t normal; 12,010 t full load

Dimensions: Length overall / water x beam x draught
   338.00 ft / 338.00 ft x 60.00 ft x 18.00 ft (normal load)
   103.02 m / 103.02 m x 18.29 m  x 5.49 m

Armament:
      2 - 3.00" / 76.2 mm guns in single mounts, 13.50lbs / 6.12kg shells, 1913 Model
Breech loading guns in deck mounts
on centreline ends, evenly spread, all raised mounts
      12 - 0.75" / 19.1 mm guns (6x2 guns), 0.21lbs / 0.10kg shells, 1913 Model
Breech loading guns in deck mounts
on side, all amidships, all raised mounts - superfiring
Weight of broadside 30 lbs / 13 kg
Shells per gun, main battery: 100

Armour:
   - Gun armour:   Face (max)   Other gunhouse (avg)   Barbette/hoist (max)
   Main:   1.00" / 25 mm         -               -
   2nd:   0.50" / 13 mm         -               -

Machinery:
Coal and oil fired boilers, simple reciprocating steam engines,
   Direct drive, 2 shafts, 12,867 ihp / 9,599 Kw = 17.73 kts
   Range 15,000nm at 12.00 kts
Bunker at max displacement = 4,330 tons (55% coal)

Complement:
   503 - 654

Cost:
   £0.590 million / $2.359 million

Distribution of weights at normal displacement:
   Armament: 4 tons, 0.0 %
   Armour: 5 tons, 0.0 %
      - Belts: 0 tons, 0.0 %
      - Torpedo bulkhead: 0 tons, 0.0 %
      - Armament: 5 tons, 0.0 %
      - Armour Deck: 0 tons, 0.0 %
      - Conning Tower: 0 tons, 0.0 %
   Machinery: 1,970 tons, 19.5 %
   Hull, fittings & equipment: 1,998 tons, 19.8 %
   Fuel, ammunition & stores: 2,609 tons, 25.9 %
   Miscellaneous weights: 3,500 tons, 34.7 %

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
     10,008 lbs / 4,539 Kg = 741.3 x 3.0 " / 76 mm shells or 1.4 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.14
   Metacentric height 3.0 ft / 0.9 m
   Roll period: 14.6 seconds
   Steadiness   - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 70 %
         - Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.00
   Seaboat quality  (Average = 1.00): 1.45

Hull form characteristics:
   Hull has a flush deck
   Block coefficient: 0.967
   Length to Beam Ratio: 5.63 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 18.38 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 57 %
   Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 48
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): -5.00 degrees
   Stern overhang: 0.00 ft / 0.00 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
      - Stem:      22.00 ft / 6.71 m
      - Forecastle (15 %):   20.00 ft / 6.10 m
      - Mid (45 %):      15.00 ft / 4.57 m
      - Quarterdeck (15 %):   15.00 ft / 4.57 m
      - Stern:      15.00 ft / 4.57 m
      - Average freeboard:   16.62 ft / 5.07 m

Ship space, strength and comments:
   Space   - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 101.7 %
      - Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 123.1 %
Waterplane Area: 20,222 Square feet or 1,879 Square metres
   Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 135 %
Structure weight / hull surface area: 73 lbs/sq ft or 356 Kg/sq metre
   Hull strength (Relative):
      - Cross-sectional: 0.95
      - Longitudinal: 1.77
      - Overall: 1.01
Hull space for machinery, storage, compartmentation is adequate
Room for accommodation and workspaces is excellent
Ship has slow, easy roll, a good, steady gun platform
Good seaboat, rides out heavy weather easily

Too fast :)

And now something I had just remembered - an idea for using generic "large" and "small" tenders, without need for simming, was floated at some point.
Did it just die?
ADDED LATER:
Oh, it was me who suggested that :D
And the idea had no continuaton, so forget it :)

I havent noticed it just that small one need 5k Tons of Misc and Fuel Space and large one more....
plus the Extra $ cost for them.....

Ahoj!
I think I edited my post while you were posting a reply.
You are in the clear :)
Although the 5k is a bit tight - you have 3300 tonnes from Miscelenous and thus have to pick 1700 from coal. But 8-9000 nm at 12 kts (she's fast!) is still plenty.

Is she still to fast if I say that the other varriants include all the weight being used to move troops and landing boats, Im working on a hull pattern I intend to mass produce well by the standards of the day mass produce.  Some will end up as Small Fleet Tenders, Some and Fleet Colliers, and Some as Landing Ships for those pesky Marines on faraway Islands.  Notes I already own the Shores of Tripoli... :D

Too slow, and FAR too high block coefficient; she is built like a brick, literarly.

Well, I've learned in my short time here that you and Korpen are consistent in your feedback. You just have pretty close to opposite building philosophies. :)

The Rock Doctor

I'd say it's a knot or two faster than necessary - these are auxiliaries, and will be at crusing speed or at anchor 99% of the time.

LOL!
The classical example being 4,7" guns on destroyers :D

You know, we should start a thread where we discuss our different building styles and philosophies, together with all those little quirks that make our ships unique.
