If you have questions or things you would like added to these section go right ahead and ask.

If you wish to play one of these nations, please ask.  Several of them have very little work done on them at the time of this entry.

The Rock Doctor

DKB will have delivered the two Firanji cruisers in H2/09.  I don't think the type would be something DKB would find worth repossessing, particularly given the diplomatic implications of doing so.

Ithekro

If you think so.  I was thinking "a ship is a ship" for the recovering Reich.

As the DRM is now in the hands of BR, shouldn't it be moved to the main world section?

Also, was a fleet ever decided on for Nigeria?

The Rock Doctor

BR hasn't exactly been active too much lately, so we'll wait and see whether he's able to play as he'd intended first.

As for Nigeria - dunno.  I think there was a bit of work done at some point by somebody, but I think overall they haven't got much.

Sachmle

Texan, and Rocky for that matter, since you WesWorld you should know that BR/Swampy is experiencing Technical Difficulties (his machine won't run SS for some reason, he thinks it's the AV program, I don't) and may be AWOL for a while. I'll forgive Rocky cuz I think he's kinda burned out on WW (and he's capable of deciding that vampire penguins invade DKB).

Thanks - other than checking to see if I've receive PMs there, I don't actually read the threads very often.

Darman

Any of these available now?

Just curious... I'm far from ready to begin playing myself I need to do much more reading/catching up first.

The Rock Doctor

There's a few available.

On the low end, places like Greece and Ireland are free.  Middle powers such as Persia, Bharat, Firanj (Muslim western Australia) and Indochina are available.

At the high end, for a really ambitious soul, the United Norman Kingdom - one of our tope five industrial powers - is apparently also idle.

There's no need to rush into something - feel free to poke around, ask questions, and get the hang of the rules and Springsharp (if you're not already familiar with it).

TexanCowboy

Rocky- Wasn't Persia part of Guinness' plan for the second Caliphate?

Darman

Definitely not familiar with Springsharp, but I've been poking my nose around and it seems fairly simple (though somewhat math-intensive) to understand.  I presume Springsharp is the ship-design program?

I do have a question about fleet strength (and army strength I suppose, whichever is more relevant to a particular country), is there something that limits a more powerful nation from attacking a newer, weaker nation?  Obviously that would be quite a concern for me since I don't wish to be assailed the moment I gain autonomy.

TexanCowboy

Well, there is the factor of common sense to prevent people from doing that. People don't usually attack nations without reason, as other players may react, including *gasp* France.

Greece is highly unlikely to be attacked, because of the protection of Iberia and Austria-Hungray and *nominally* France.

I presume that is a result of the Balkans war of 1912 (I think I got the date right).

That is something that I considered, that other players would react to it, but I wasn't quite sure the level of seriousness that it would be taken to.  I've been reading more of the technical/rules stuff than I have been foreign relations.

The Rock Doctor

Tex, you're right about Persia.  It'd be in-play after all.

Springsharp is the ship design tool.  It's not really math intensive - one typically fiddles with it by simming a basic historical design - say a light cruiser - and tinkering with the input to see what it does to the output.

There are no rules preventing large powers from whacking small ones, but the roleplaying aspect here is strong enough that it doesn't happen without reason.  The larger power usually has to consider what its rivals are going to do before it starts to stomp a small power, and we moderators step in if we thought things were moving too quickly for the newcomer.

For that matter, we'd probably also intervene if we thought the newcomer was moving to quickly to create trouble in the N-world...

Desertfox

Depends on the nation, but most small nations have some sort of protector, who would step in in case they got invaded. For example, New Switzerland is looking out for both New Zion and Siam.
